About Honeydew

A living community in the hills of Italy. Part of a global network. Built to last.

Growing food, restoring land, sharing meals, making things together - a daily life built differently, in the hills above Maiolo and across a network that crosses borders.

Who we are

A real place, and a movement.

Honeydew is a real place - a community of people who have chosen to build their daily life differently: growing food, restoring land, sharing meals, making things together.

It is also a movement: a global network of ecological communities connected by shared values, shared membership, and a shared belief that the way most of us live is not the only way.

Communal abundance

A radical, sustainable alternative - communal living in a state of natural abundance.

Fresh food grown on site, clean air, pure water, and a star-filled night sky - shared in common, not consumed in isolation. This is what daily life at Honeydew is built to protect.

The only way in is the School.

Honeydew Maiolo is not a drop-in volunteering experience. The community is built through the School of Community Life, a residential programme where participants live, work, and learn as full community members.
